Services
You must be aged 18 or over to make a booking. In the interest of keeping everyone safe, including all animals; all Smarties Puppy Parties and group classes are with respect, unsuitable for aggressive, fearful, nervous or anxious participants without prior assessment, in these circumstances you and your dog will benefit most from talking to your veterinarian first and enquiring about our Behaviour Consult service, with the aim of joining group classes in the near future. Puppies and dogs are only permitted to attend SmartDogTraining.co age appropriate classes. SmartDogTraining.co reserves the right to refuse bookings.
Smarties Puppy Parties are for puppies under six months old only that may not be fully vaccinated yet. Up to three family member (aged over 6 years old) are welcome to join at no extra cost, however children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by another adult over the age of 18 years old.
Please ensure your puppy is well rested before class. Before leaving home and again on arrival, encourage your dog to eliminate outside away from any buildings by giving them an opportunity to go to the toilet. Participants and their dogs must respect each others personal space and dogs must be kept on lead at all times unless otherwise instructed by qualified Smart Dog Trainer/s. Your dog's vaccinations, flea, tick and worming treatments must also be kept up to date. (Ask your vet for more information). Ensure your contact details are on your dog’s collar/harness and your dog's microchip detail are up to date with your current address, so you can be quickly reunited if you lose them.
Social conduct: prevent your dog from approaching horse riders, cyclists, or other people and their dogs uninvited. Never let your dog worry or chase wildlife or livestock. Bag up all of your dog's waste wherever you are, and use public waste bins where available or dispose in your bin at home.

Covid Procedure and Risk Assesment at Smart Dog Training
All customers MUST comply with venue's health and safety policies.
1. Smart Dog Training
The activities carried out at Smart Dog Training are to educate clients and to exercise both clients and their dogs in a safe environment.
2. Smart Dog Training Owners’ Responsibilities
We are responsible for translating UK Government Covid guidance into specific actions we need to take (depending on our situation, location, and organisation) to conduct our activities while minimising the risk of spreading COVID-19.
3. Risk Assessment
We have carried out this COVID-19 risk assessment to identify sensible measures to control the risks at Smart Dog Training in consultation with those who work with or visit us. We have published the assessment on the website and in communications with visitors. There is also a “Staying COVID- Secure” poster we have displayed saying that we have followed the Govt guidelines. Action complete.
4. General control measures
To reduce the risk to the lowest reasonably practicable level these three general steps need to be taken at all times:
1. Increase the frequency of hand washing/sanitisation and surface cleansing
2. Follow these minimum social distancing guidelines: 2m separation if seated or walking normally, 3m if e.g., running a course.
3. Ventilation. All Smart Dog Training venues windows and doors need to be open during use to allow fresh air to enter - wide open in hot weather. In cold/windy weather the amount of opening can be adjusted. This is the responsibility of Smart Dog Training staff members on site.
N.B. These instructions are relayed to all staff and users via the website and referred to at the time of booking. Ongoing
5. Additional site-specific measures to reduce contact
- Clear communication to all participants and staff to take all reasonable measures to comply with hygiene, distancing and ventilation e.g., on website and with hiring instructions.
- Avoid unduly raised voices, music, radios: all might make normal conversation difficult and encourage shouting and closer contact. Trainers should use PA systems/headsets where possible.
- Manage contact. Primarily through hand washing and avoid sharing objects.
Avoid cash - use contactless payment etc. Safe distance signage (Action complete). Users fix all doors open when Smart Dog Training operates.
- Equipment for use readily accessible - users leave out where possible

- Reduce class sizes accordingly (As advised by UK Govt) with staggered session times to avoid overlap and allow cleaning. All bookings planned; extra people/spectators allowed – according to current UK government legislation.
- Calculate maximum capacity for each activity. Ongoing
